Sleepover Birthday Party Ideas For 13 Year Olds
The most important thing was to capture the look of the Gossip Girl sleepover to create a young and sophisticated atmosphere.
Fun Themes & Decorations For A Sleepover Party
We created a mix of purple, pink and gold balloons to perfectly match the theme of the movie night marathon area. We also added flowers to the balloons to make it even more special. It was truly touching and added so much to the atmosphere of their special day!
We decorated the coat rack with spa dresses on hangers, balloons and flowers. We also provided them with all the necessary products to give them the complete spa experience (cleanser, face masks, moisturizers) and instructions so they can take care of themselves while having fun! To complete the spa day, our Muddy Boots team was on hand to give each of them a mini manicure and pedicure.
This bedroom was definitely one for the books! Our team at Muddy Boots went above and beyond to deliver a unique experience for this young lady on her special day that she will remember forever. There must be a bunch of sleeping bags scattered across the living room floor or a few kids huddled together in a twin bed. Or maybe you don’t remember it at all. Brooke Cornelius plans to change that with Southern Sleepovers, a company that creates unforgettable nighttime experiences for kids.

It all started in the fall of 2017, when Cornelius, a full-time registered nurse and soon-to-be mother of two in Chattanooga, Tennessee, began looking for a creative outlet. “I always had a passion for event planning and decorating and wanted to do something on the side,” she said.
. She had a lightbulb moment when she came across a photo of a small tent on the internet. “I thought it would be really cool to offer them for sleepovers,” she recalls.
Her husband, Robbie, began building six miniature tents and they began hosting small children’s parties in their neighborhood. Word spread quickly: Cornelius went from one batch in December 2017 to 16 batches in December 2018. “Photos and seeing it in person [really helped understand],” she says. “When you set them up and the parents and kids arrive, no one has ever seen anything like this before, so they’re engaged.”
The process of booking Southern Sleepover is easy: Cornelius basically handles all the details, making it a stress-free process for parents. Anyone interested in hosting a party fills out a form on the website that asks questions like the desired date, number of guests, and whether they have a theme in mind (unicorns and mermaids have been popular lately, says Cornelius). If the date is convenient, she arranges a drop-off time where she and her husband will bring all the party supplies, including custom tents, 5-foot mattresses (perfect for kids), and a bouquet. lights and decorations. They come back the next morning to collect everything.

“It’s nice for me to see how these mature adults, moms and dads, lift weights,” Cornelius says. “Even when they see it, they act almost like children.”
The average weekend in Chattanooga now consists of two or three parties, but Cornelius has expanded his business to north Alabama with a Nashville outpost starting this month. They now have an inventory of almost 30 tents in their home – “we finished our basement so we had space to store everything!” said Cornelius.
Christmas is a particularly popular time to book. Cornelius offers specially themed tent setups in the living room for children to sleep in on Christmas Eve, and many families in the area have made this a tradition in recent years. Running a business and making the holidays special for his family during this time may seem stressful, but for Cornelius, it’s worth it. “It’s really nice to know that I created something unique and fun that they will always remember,” she says.
Tiffany Quarfordt, a mother of three in Signal Mountain, Tenn., hosted two parties at her home through Southern Sleepovers: one for her daughter Eva’s eighth birthday and the other for her daughter Jenna’s 11th birthday.

Birthday “I think my 13-year-old, Carmen, would still want one,” she says. “Everything looks magical, and I don’t think this kind of beauty grows.” OK, that’s it, we’re making reservations!

Six girls to a slumber party! That was so fun. Here’s a little taste of the fun they had……
Sleepover Ideas & Invitation Wording
My loot bags did double duty as decoration for our birthday table. The colored cellophane was clear and gave plenty of color. We’ve added some party favors and birthday crowns to add even more fun. The cake was made by my friend Jenn from Heavenly Sweets and consisted of a chocolate layer and a vanilla layer. Since the birthday girl loves cheesecake, we threw chocolate covered cheesecake bites at the table!
Garment bags were so easy and I got everything I needed at Dollarama. The pretty boxes were perfect to fill with goodies and the cellophane looked extra special. They cost about $7 each, which I thought was pretty good. Check out the prepackaged photos below.
Okay, this was definitely the biggest hit of the party……we bought three different “non-alcoholic” mixes and a bottle of grenadine, some pop and juice, and let the girls create their own personal cocktails The mixers came from our local grocery store, Zehrs, and we used cocktail swords and we bought the mini umbrellas from Dollarama. We cut out some decorations…….and Voila……hours of fun!
The girls played Wii, made cocktails, ate pizza and candy, danced, sang, shot videos, opened peaches, ate cake and watched a few movies before settling in for the night.
Adult Slumber Party Ideas For The Perfect Girls Sleepover
So in the morning the girls woke up to a small breakfast buffet. I used party favors again to decorate the table. I received a triple share of these favors! The breakfast buffet consisted of Purple Pancake Stacks (the birthday girl’s favorite color), Mini Eggos Stacks with bananas and chocolate chips, fruit rings, and orange juice. Very easy!
To make the orange juice even more special, we used extra garnishes we had left over from the cocktail bar.
Mini Reverb Stacks. I was hoping to put Nutella in there too, but time was not on my side. I put a slice of banana in between and covered it with whipped cream and some chocolate chips… so easy. Chocolate chips can also be a nice alternative.
Everyone had a good time……even the adults enjoyed themselves. Cleaning…. not really…… but it was a fun party!
